This cache is in Holy Cross Cemetery in St. Albans, VT. History can be found everywhere here and paying a little attention will make you think about then and now. I'll attach some photos with descriptions.

Very nice coin, will have to start one of my own moving sometime.

  • The Boys with TB1TKT6 These are my boys with the coin in Holy Cross Cemetery, St. Albans, VT.

They are sitting just above the headstone of the oldest of the three Carroll brothers that served together in World War I, and are all buried together there, side by side. Judging by the DOD, they all made it home safe and lived long lives.
  • Perspective I found this stone interesting as it mentions that Louis was a "World War veteran", not WWI, not WWII, but "World war".

It struck me that given the DOD of both people on the stone, there was, in their time, only one "World war"....they didn't expect another, so why number it? Then I thought about it and remembered that what we now know as WWI was called, at the time, "the war to end all wars". I sure wish it had.
