This geocoin traveled from Winter Park, FL to Washington D.C. and many places in between. I had it tucked away in my camera case and therefore it went everywhere I did! Quite the journey! Some pics of its journey are attached. Some things learned along the journey: The first 1/3 of the Washington Monument is a different color than the last 2/3 of the monument. The reason for that is because the government ran out of money after the first 1/3 was constructed and several years later when they went to complete it, the quarry in which they had taken the stone was dug deeper than the original stone that was taken and therefore a different color! At the Arlington Cemetary, the head stones are placed equally distanced apart as this is the considered the soldiers last official formation.

Great coin & thanks for sharing this coin with others! TurtleSue78 brought it by for me to admire. I'm glad she did, hadn't seen one like this before that I can recall.
I want to take this coin on a journey that I will be taking in 3 weeks to D.C. I will undoubtedly have a story or two to post!
Spotted at the Red Snirt Festival before it hit the trail once again.
Picked up this geocoin at el nimrods great "Red Snirt" Festival Winter Cache Event. Lots of food, friends, games and fun.
I'm planning to drive to Florida in mid-March and will take this item and drop it off there.
Nobody grabbed it today so I'm moving it to next week's "Red Snirt Festival Winter Cache Event" at Hacienda del Nimrod/Casa Rootie (home).
