****Calling All Rocket Man
Travel Bugs - The Race is On****
This travel bug has a new
mission to get back to its owner in Colorado, USA. Please help this travel
bug to win the race against all other Rocket Man travel bugs on their way to a
cache in the Denver area. If you can't help this travel bug on its current
mission, please place it back into a cache quickly so it can keep moving.
If you find this travel bug in the Denver area, please keep it in the area.
Thanks,
Rocket Man
Original Goal -
The goal of the Mercury Atlas Travel Bug is to "orbit" the earth. Once the travel bug has traveled around the world,
the goal is to have it return to Launch Complex 14 at Cape Canaveral where the Mercury Atlas was launched.
The Mercury Atlas Launch Vehicle was used to put John Glen into orbit around
the earth. John Glen was the first person to do this, flying aboard Friendship 7
(MA-6). The vehicle left the pad at Launch Complex 14 at Cape Canaveral on
2/20/62. For more information, visit this site:
http://science.ksc.nasa.gov/history/mercury/ma-6/ma-6.html
Note 1: This model of the Mercury Atlas is not anatomically correct. The Atlas
booster actually has three engines all in a line, instead of the triangular
pattern on the model.
Note 2: The original Mercury Atlas travel bug was placed in a cache that was
plundered before it ever got started. The travel bug was restarted using
the copy tag.
Note 3: The Mercury Atlas with the copy tag attached was stolen by Pigman,
so I am going to try to send this guy out one more time with a homemade travel
bug tag attached.

Found this in Grand Junction near the Colorado National Monument. Doing some caching with the kids while waiting for #4 to arrive. Will place it in a cache within the week. Found at Neither Here nor There, placed into Tizzy'z Rest Stop on I-70 in Utah.

Picked this one up at the event last night. We will be coming through Colo the 10th of March. We will be going to Cortez in the SW corner. I can drop it there, or on I-70 before we make the turn south to Moab. Hopefully the owner will email us your wish...Thanks for the TB.
