Hello All,
I am the intended recipient of the "Granite State Bug". My brother sent the bug on it's journey 3 years ago and it's been to more places than I have "Wow". When I became aware that there was a bug out there on it's way to find me, I set out to find it as soon as I could. Hamcache is a four hour drive from my location so my one and only, our three detectives and I left early one morning and arrived in Aachen by noon. I was unsure of the GPS and its' responsiveness so we did what any starving American clan would do and searched for McDonalds. Once we were located at the center and with full bellys, I punched the coordinates into the GPS and we were only 1.2km from the Cache and we navigated to the area in about an hour. I couldn't locate the cache but my 5 year old detective did and he's made his mark among the significance of this particular cache.
Thank You to all the folks that had a hand in ensuring the consistent travel of the "Granite State Bug" to continue towards it's final destination, me.
I briefly looked over the travel path and I realize that there were many sacrifices made by people to let such a genuine article go and to allow this to happen, Thank You.
The "Granite State Bug" now sits proudly on the mantle in our living room, that is, as long as our 2 year old detective allows it to.
Now, I find myself sitting at the dining room table every day sharing the spirit behind what braught me a piece of my Granite home and I am motivated to return the favor somehow: Standby for the sequel "Granite State Bug II"
