The race begins in Raleigh, NC on October 6th, 2007 and ends at GeoWoodstock VI (GC134MJ) on May 28th, 2008. Please make sure all logs on this bug are entered no later that June 1st, 2008 or they won't count towards the race standings.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

  • Greatest distance travelled
  • Most geocaches visited
  • Most states visited
  • Most points collected for suitable photographs posted with log entries
  • Please don't hold onto this racer even if you plan on attending GW6, unless you happen upon this racer less than a month prior to GW6 and are planning to attend.

    Thanks for the update, dflye (and thanks for the email, Vegas Gamblers)! Sorry I couldn't move this racer that far, but I hopefully found a cache where it'll be safe & found again soon.
    Sad to hear that few of these Hippie Bus Racers have pics so far - I only wish more cachers read the goals of the TBs/coins they found & did more to help 'em along. On that note, here's what I hope is an appropriate pic to earn this coin some more points.

    Catching up on updating the race standings from the last update at the end of 2007, and the prior note makes me realize that I'd been focusing on the standings page exclusively, to such an extent that I'd totally forgotten to update the rest of the site since the race began. DOH!

    Nice to see racers going through my home-state of Washington on their way to GW6. 😎

    Any picture is a good picture, as most bugs in the race are without any at this point (other than the pic I provided of racers on the GCF NC event "log") One of my New Years resolutions is better upkeep of the race, and that includes the monthly drawings, picture category and web site. So fire up that camera and shoot away! 😁

    Nice coin and idea for a competition. It's just too bad the website isn't up-to-date (still says the race hasn't started!), or else I'd happily take photos of the coin to earn some more points. Instead, I guess I'll just move this guy to a new cache ASAP.
