Captain Kidd was one of the most fearsome pirates in history. He sailed on a powerful ship, the Adventure Galley, equipped with 34 cannons and a crew of 80 cutthroats. When his crew threatened him with mutiny, he became a pirate himself. When he returned home to England, he was found guilty of piracy and hanged. Some of his missing treasure was discovered off Long Island, but most remains to be found.

This was a must do cache for the Captain. He was suitably impressed with the cache hide and location. He was trying to round up a crew so their attack of the castle could commence immediately.

Brought TB Captain Kidd in search of the special TB bounty listed in this cache. The idea of finding a TB from the Czech Republic was the motivation the Capt'n needed.
Unfortunately when he arrived at the cache he found some scallywag had already taken the treasure and left only their shovel behind.
He didn't want to stay as he heard that more treasure was to be had.

  • Checking out the Harbor Entrance Captain Kidd checks out the St. Joseph, MI harbor entrance from afar.
  • This way to the treasure Captain Kidd's GPS map showed us that we had a walk along the Lake Michigan shore to the treasure.
  • Scallywags! Upon seeing the shovel left behind, we had a feeling that the TB treasure had probably been stolen. Our fears were confirmed upon entering the cache. Captain Kidd was furious when they didn't leave their Pirate mark so he would know who to follow.
  • What is that contraption Captian Kidd could see the high masts of the ships on the other side of the St. Joseph Canal but no way to get across. He was confounded by that contraption in the middle of the water. I also explained that the Coast Guard station was in view as well. This was probably not the best place to Pirate a ship.
  • River Cruise MaxB's Tour Group takes a Cruise on the St Joseph River. They saw lots of wildlife from the sun deck. Shown are Tb's: Southern Butterfly, Tigger in Trouble, Lydia's Lime, Captain Kidd, Off to see the Bulldog-Tinman, Eagle Claw #29, Johnny Cache, Sounds Ducky, Ben Blue, Treasure Cache, When Pigs Fly and Off to see the Bulldog-Scarecrow.

Captain Kidd has heard that MaxB has a tour scheduled to a treasure trove of Travel Bugs - maybe he can find himself a crew to head towards New York and his own treasure.

  • On the River Captain Kidd at MaxB's on the St. Joseph River in Michigan.
  • Captain Kidd and Captain Jack Sparrow The captains managed to get a peek down to the river and saw MaxB's vessel sitting at anchor. She had to explain she didn't have a large enough crew to shove off. She'll be watching them real close tonight to make sure her ships not pirated.
