About This Item

This coin was given to my son John on his 11th christmas, 2007.
He is train mad and would like photos of his coin visiting train related places, he prefers steam but anything to keep him moving.
The coin series was released to help raise funds for the Severn Valley Railway which suffered huge damage during the July floods that devastated many parts of the UK.
many many thanks
Alan (dad)

As I hadn't found anywhere safe/large enough to place this coin in Central London, I'm taking it back to Shropshire with me via Marylebone. Sorry to hold onto it all this time but hopefully it has had an interesting journey, and I'll make sure it gets dropped off very soon 🙂

This coin visited a cache right next to Barkingside Tube station today, but I didn't want to leave it there as the cache looked like it gets disturbed by muggles quite frequently. I was hoping to find somewhere safe down here in Central London for it, but nearly every cache is a micro and the larger caches have problems with trackables going missing. I'll drop it off somewhere next week when I get up to the midlands again, but just wanted you to know that it's safe and is still travelling 🙂

I discovered this under an orange cushion. who knows how it got there?

I dipped this coin in and out of this cache for mileage as the coin passed through Marylebone Station at the end of its journey from Shropshire today. Unfortunately the cache was too small to take the coin, but I am looking for a suitable place to drop it off 🙂

Passed to me by Gregory371 in Oswestry, as I'm going to London and have a better chance of finding some good railway-related caches 🙂

Picked up today from Llynclys halt. I'm a train fan too and come from a family line of railwaymen and women - my aunty was a station announcer at Manchester Piccadilly, my grandfather was a signalman in Leicester, and a more distant ancestor helped to build one of the first railways in South Wales.
