This Travel Bug originated in Fort Worth, Texas as an homage to the city's namesake, General William Jenkins Worth. His current mission is to visit The Military Academy at West Point where he was commandant of Cadets in 1825
Thanks to 2 Cats Big Tex TB achieved his first goal on July 6, 2005 which was to visit the grave of Fort Worth's namesake, General William Jenkins Worth, who is buried beneath a fifty foot-granite spire at Broadway and Fifth Avenue in New York City.
Big Tex's goals now are to visit places of significance in the life of General Worth:
- The Military Academy at West Point where he was commandant of Cadets in 1825,
- Tampa Bay, Florida where he ended the Seminole War in 1842, and
- San Antonio, Texas where he was Commander of the Department of Texas in 1849.
