This Geocache was originally given to me as a farewell gift by some geocaching friends in the inaka (rural) town of Iwaki in Akita prefecture, Japan. My friends would love to travel around the world geocaching some day but for now they are unable- this geocoin seeks to do some travelling on their behalf! This caches mission is to make it to some big sightseeing spots and get photos- maybe one day my friends will make it back there themselves!
Ideally this cache woul rack up a number of sights, countries and even continents before it tried to return home to Akita, Japan. Into the double digits would be ideal!
If you find this cache and cannot fulfill the mission please replace it back where you found it- it will wait patiently for another cacher, after all some of the best parts of travel are spent quietly taking in your new surroundings.
This coin was designed and developed by Japanese geocachers. On the front of the coin it has the highest mountain in Japan, Mt Fuji; and it has Sakura, the cherry blossom tree. The Kanji says "Country Japan". The backside has a map of Japan. The gold plating was selected as the only finish for this coin since Japan was called "Golden Island Japan" by the Italian explorer Marco Polo back in 1220AD.
