Picked up from Frogmill Farm. But I'm not a Linux guru. When I picked it up there was no documentation with it describing its purpose, else I might have left it there 🙂
On the desktop I tinker with Linux now and again, mostly because I think I ought to, and because I think I really should have an alternative to Windows if MS ever do anything that makes me need to stop using it. But despite being a computer techie since 1977, Unix and Linux just don't click with me. I run a copy of PC Linux in a VM under XP, but very rarely fire it up. Nearest I come to it is that I use several GNU tools such as GCC for ARM and AVR, but under Windows, not Linux.
I own a small company that designs and programs embedded systems. I implemented Linux on an embedded ARM processor once, but it was just so I understood the process and not because I had a job for it - for all the jobs we've ever done, embedding Linux would merely increase the hardware requirement and slow the whole thing down compared to using a compact RTOS.
So, I'm sorry, but I'm not the best person to have taken this coin 😟
I'll drop it off and hope someone more suitable finds it. But looking back through the logs I wouldn't hold your breath (English way of saying you might have to wait a long time 🙂).
