As far as I can ascertain, this medallion depicts a 2-6-2 replica tank engine, originally built by Manning Wardle in 1897 for the Lynton & Lynmouth Railway. This was scrapped in 1935. A replica one named LYD was built at Boston Lodge on the Ffestiniog Railway in 1995 and this is running today. I assume this medallion was sold to raise funds to help build the engine. Any genuine information about this would be most welcome. Please look after this momento and keep it travelling along as many old railway tracks as possible.
