Current Goal

Travel through the cache community raising awareness for finding a cure for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Ultimately, I want to gain enough support to encourage the ALS Foundation to create a TB.

About This Item

Banded Together

Orange rubber wrist band This is my second traveling spirit band in support of raising awareness for finding a cure for ALS (aka Lou Gehrig's Disease), a neurodegenerative disease that systematically shuts down the voluntary motor functions (including breathing) of those who carry it. A friend and former colleage was diagnosed in 2005. His daily activities have been completely consumed by this disease, but his spirit is as rye and strong as ever.

This is the second band that I have released attempting to raise awareness for ALS. The first band (TB1RNC7) also has the honor of celebrating the spirit and courage of a friend of mine who has been diagnosed with the in 2005. Steve's continued advocacy while dealing with the challeges this disease faces is remarkable. I released that band in China on a work trip and it now resides in Germany, having traveled more than 13,000 miles.

I will be donating $1 to the ALS foundation in honor of my friend's spirit for each time the bug is retrieved, discovered, or grabbed by a new cacher. Here's a chance for you to contribute to a worthy cause without spending a dime!! Move this bug soon and often, take it to events, share the bug with others. TAKE PICTURES, but please don't post the tracking code, I want real eyes on this bug!

Thanks for your support! constantseeker

***UPDATE*** I will begin making my first contribution on behalf of geocachers at the end of April (2008). So far 15 cachers have seen this little TB and I could not be happier! Get it going! cs-->

Not in Crikey Cache as of 9/27/09. No trackables were there, so I chose not to leave the one I was carrying either. I did see a blue wristband similar to this, but it was still in the package.
