Current Goal

My goal is to fly high (that is, visit caches that are placed at high elevations) and far. Please try to place me in caches that are 1000 feet elevation or higher. If I could visit Eagles Beach cache in Alaska, it would be nice, because I here they have good salmon up there.

About This Item

I am the High Flying Bald Eagle and I like to roost high above the cities and keep a watchful eye. This is a Republic of Liberia coin which has the image of an American Bald Eagle on the front. The coin was minted in the year 2000 and the eagle has been colorized for dramatic effect.

Picked this coin up and moved him around...i haven't been logging all of its caches that it has traveled to. I took him to Denali this last weekend but due to dead camera batteries didn't get any pictures. I also took him on a three pitch climb down on the turnagain arm. I'll post pics soon...

I took the high flying bald eagle to the high point on Wolverene Peak...It was a beautiful spring climb. He is still in my posession enjoying great spring snow even with the Volcanic Ash!

  • Wolverene Peak I don't think the coin has been here before. I kept him because I couldn't find the cache.
  • The last pitch up the ridge... It is near the "all of anchorage" cache.
  • The view from the summit Looking back at Williwa from the summit. Seemed like a great place for the coin to hang out on Easter night.

I have waited a long time to get a hold of this coin...Luck brought it back to the great state of Alaska. I had left it on my watch list for all those years since it left. It has some adventures in store...hope you don't mind if i hold on to it for a few weeks while it sees some of the country it was born to visit:) Thanks to North Wes and Lady Bug Kids for getting the coin to me.

Didn't realize till I went to log it that I've had this before - in Alaska, in April 2005. Wow - this one's got longevity! We'll see where it ends up this time...

Hiked up over 1000 ft from where I parked the car to the cache site. The cache is at about 3500 ft.
