Blackbeard is too nasty a pirate to stay in any one place too long, so keep him movin'. About the only time he's cooperative is when he's posing for photos. See how he smiles?
Englishman Edward Teach (1680-1718) took on the name Blackbeard when he became a pirate. He grew his thick black beard long, braided it & tied it up with ribbons. He is said to have put smoking fuses in his hair to look more terrifying in battle. Most of his treasure has never been discovered.
