The Whittingham Roll of Honour is a memorial to WWI soldiers lost in battle.
It also happens to be only 20 metres away from one of the busiest railroads in OZ 😮
An appropriate spot to leave this travel bug I think 🙂
I set the Runaway Train on a post to get a picture with a passing train rushing past, but what happened next was quite unbelievable. The next train came along and there I was with finger poised on the camera shutter waiting to snap the picture at just the right moment.
What's happpend to the speeding train ?
I peered out from behind the camera to find the train was stopping right where I was. Why ? There's no signal here.
Anyhow I got the picture and had a chat with the engineer, before they rolled off again a few minutes later 😮
Weird !!
Strange looking train too. It was one of those maintenance ones which grind the rails to the correct profile when they get a bit damaged from traffic 😁
