Current Goal

As I was going through a bunch of old junk in the attic, I came across this poor, abandoned soul. A compass. Once proud to point the way; to lead others through the wilderness and the great outdoors. Now, a shadow has been cast. Great satelites in the sky look down upon us and feed our technological hunger; driving us this way and that with our fancy GPSr units. So, if you can, take Len's Attic Compass out for a spin. Let him once again feel the thrill of guiding you to your treasure.

We found this cache and took the travel bug awhile back, but did not know that we were supposed to log it...Sorry! One of our first finds! The compass has been vacationing with us this summer throughout Wisconsin, but has been unable to find a new home. It finally found a new residence in Door County,WI at the Fish Creek Park. It has found a safe/dry home...for the time being. It is in the Finders Find Cache in Fish Creek, WI at N45 07.258 w087 14.375....a fun cache to find.

When I was in the cemetery, I noticed a gravestone with a flag from GAR. It appears that the man there was in the American Civil War. He probably would have appreciated this fine instrument.

A real relic. Reminds me of the hand bearing compasses we used for navigating sailboats on the Great Lakes.
