Horatio's a history hound. He's looking to visit places of historical interest. This need not be Gettysburg or the Liberty Bell (though those would be fine). Places of local significance are welcome - and encouraged. Perhaps you could take him to a locale that an out-of-towner might not be likely to discover on their own.
Take Horatio with you to the site. Write up a log entry educating those watching Horatio about your historical site. Post a photo if you like. Perhaps you could even include a snapshot of Horatio on-site or a link to a relevant website.
