This Travel Bug originally wanted to make it to England in time for dcdawn to find it. She was stationed there until 3/2011.  As of 10/24/2010, it met its goal. Now, the world is its oyster.

English Mailbox

This Travel Bug was a gift from dcdawn, geocaching enthusiast and Anglophile extraordinaire. It depicts a common sight on the streets of England, one which encourages written communication. Traditionally UK post boxes carry the Latin initials of the reigning monarch at the time of their installation. Pillar boxes and other RMG Street Furniture are maintained by Romec Ltd.

At long last, sister Birchgirl's EUR Post Office is back in circulation. I had a lovely time traveling with it, but am departing the UK this week and know there's a lot more for this TB to see in Europe before it returns to the US. I left it in the company of Tiny Dancer at the British Library...a great place for a visit, but I'm sure they'll both be eager to resume their travels soon!

We saw all sorts of sights in Copenhagen, including a sister post box and the little mermaid.

The TB and I enjoyed our trip to the Cotswolds.

  • High above Broadway in the Cotswolds This tower was a few miles away from the cache, but probably visible with the right set of field glasses. The TB was very comfortable being at the top of the tower.
