This travel bug is part of the geocaching patch of an East Hampton girl scout troop.
East Hampton, CT is also known as Belltown USA. At one time, there were over 30 bell manufacturers in East Hampton. Today, the Bevin Bell Factory, which started making bells in 1872 is the only remaining factory. It March 2012, a lighting strike started a devesating fire to the Bevin Bell Factory. Although the future was uncertain, Bevin Bells is rebuilding and the American made, top quality bells are still being made in East Hampton.
The bell attached to this bug is, of course, a Bevin Brothers Bell made in East Hampton, CT.
