Sorry it took us so long to get him on his way. We had a string of bad weather and than a (viral) bug. Then we were off on vacation so American Pride has visited the Atlantic ocean (Rehoboth Beach, Delaware) N 38 43.301, W075 04.914
He's on his way home!

Write note 6/1/2004 Polarclan posted a note for it   Visit Log

We took American Pride on a tour of DC on Memorial Day. I'm afraid it rained so the pictures aren't spectacular, but we hit the major monuments as well as Arlington National Cemetary. We should be dropping him off in another cache next Saturday.

Sorry we missed labelling the picture: the Arlington waypoint is N 38 52.463 W077 04.642.

  • American Pride at the Washington Monument
  • American Pride at the Lincoln Memorial
  • American Pride at the Capitol Building
  • American Pride at Arlington National Cemetary We felt this was particularly appropriate. This was taken on Memorial day at Arlington near our father's (World War II), and grandfather's (World War I) graves. One of the greatest things that America can be proud of is the men and women who died for her. The way point is actually Dad's grave.

This was our first cache - had a great time! The terrain was a little rough for our little two (2 and 3 1/2) especially with the weather near 90, but the big two (5 and almost 7) were fine. We've brought the eagle back to Maryland and will be dropping it in a cache here soon. He's on his way home! :)
