Current Goal

I am a public work of art in the 2008 Bellevue Sculpture Exhibition. Please keep me in King County this summer. I need to return to geocache GC1C8D0 at Bellevue City Hall by August 30th, 2008. Until, then, I would like to roll around happily!

About This Item

DSC_0019

ROCO, very similar in appearance to his more famous cousin Smiley Face, just wants to have a good time. He has no limbs with which to ensure that he does so; all he can really do is roll around helplessly or be picked up and carried around. That, however, is why he has such a big grin on his face; he's learned to be content wherever he is! If only more of us were like ROCO, no? Irregardless, ROCO enjoys some things more than others; he, for example, prefers to be outside in the park as often as possible. He also likes to watch soccer (but not being kicked around like a soccer ball, despite his spherical shape), and is super excited that the Sounders are joining the MLS this next season! ROCO was created out of paper clay by Marcus. This was done at Ground Zero Teen center through the City of Bellevue's sculpted green art project for summer 2008.

Found Roco in a beautiful wetlands park in Federal Way called "West Hylebos Park". It was a beautiful autumn day and we enjoyed crunching the leaves and watching the squirrels collecting seeds during our walk. Looks like Roco didn't make it back to Bellevue by August 30th but we'll get him there now. Better late than never, eh Roco?

Took Roco a little further from his home range than I should have. Dropped him off near Mt. Rainier. Hopefully he can make his way back to Seattle. Sorry bout that.
