Rosie stayed at home and built planes, during WWII. She would love to travel, anywhere, any mode of transportation. She especially loves to tell the world of her travels, so would really appreciate it if you would be her voice, as she moves along! Thanks for taking her to her next stop! (While you are at it, would you tell us about your war heroes?)
Margaret Chandler was a real live "Rosie the Riveter"! She stayed at home, building planes for the war effort, while her future husband, John Day, was away fighting. She was at Chance Vought Aircraft Factory, in Grand Prairie, Texas. She built wing assemblies for the F4U Corsair, the legendary scurge of the Jap Zeroes in the Pacific Campaign. When John returned home, they were married and Margaret returned to the more lady like side of life. She made a home, cooked and cleaned, shopped and fussed over her hair and all the other things that "girls" do. She had two sons, the oldest of which was Scotty (named, by the way, for Robert L. Scott, author of "God is my Co-pilot", who is still alive at this writing; a retired General of the US Air Force). It just so happens that Scotty (most call him Scott)is the male half of "DayHunters". Margaret left us at way too early an age, when Scott way just a few days shy of 10 years old. But what a legacy she left! We decided to put travel bugs out into the world in caches honoring both John and Margaret Day, true "Greatest Generation Americans". We are hoping that this will bring about a sharing of stories of your war "heroes", also.

Hey, Kids!
CapnMac and I are back in town from Cabo. Am having a wonderful time! We're off to Provo, UT on Thursday. Not sure how long we'll be staying, but I understand you guys may be in Moab at the same time. What are the chances of that happening?! Have a safe and fun trip!
Love,
Mom

Scott & Linda,
Just a quick note to let you know that CapnMac and I arrived in Cabo San Lucas today. I know I prefer the balmier weather down here! Looking forward to surf and sand and maybe an ice-tea on the beach!
Love,
Mom

Hey Kids,
Just a quick note to let you know I'm back in McKinney! CapnMac thinks we may be leaving for Cabo San Lucas on Thursday. We'll be gone for 5 days, so you won't hear from me until late next week! Looking forward to the sand and sun....
Love,
Mom

Hey Kids,
Wow! CapnMac sure gets around. Today we flew into Pontiac MI for a quick turn around trip. I don't think the average folks realize how grueling a pilot's life can be. CapnMac won't be home in time tonight to celebrate Valentine's Day with his Honey. He must have a very understanding wife!
Michigan was cold and snowy! I think I prefer the weather in the South! CapnMac has been real nice to me...the pocket in his flight bag is nice and cozy. It is rumored that we will be heading for balmier climate later in the week. Can't wait to see what the future holds....
Love for now,
Mom
