Back to Mass - where so much of the spirit of the American Patriots began. 😁
My 9/11 STORY: is not too unusual. I was working on a plumbing job in a basement listening to NPR on the radio. The info about the first plane hitting the north tower instantly recalled the accidental crash of a plane (a P-38?) into the Empire State Building sometime around 1950. That was in the fog. But the weather on 9/11/01 was so fine that it seemed strongly inexplicable for such an accident to have happened in the modern era of flight with radar etc. Still, I was unable to grasp immediately that this was no accident. Like so many millions of americans, the instant the second plane hit the south tower changed everything. I did not see that live on TV but rather heard news of it on the radio. That instant chilled me to the core. Denial of the attack could no longer be sustained, and the world as we knew it no longer existed. It had been replaced by one much nastier and more dangerous.
I did not know anyone who died in those attacks, but our friends did. They were buyers working for TJMaxx who used to work for the company that CarLuna had worked for. Those unfortunate innocents were on one of the planes that left from Boston.
There are so many accounts in books and film of those events. Some documentarian, some fictionalized. I strongly reccomend "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" - by William Safron Fore (name inexact from memory).
To change the subject back to Patriots - we also have the DYNASTIC Football Patriots ! 😎 To commemorate our local heros I have added a 2004 patriots championship ring to the Patriot TB. Note that this ring was found as a trade item in a chache. 👍
