Bug drop and retrieve during our quick weekend trip to Cajun Country, Louisiana! The Cajun culture is unique, and the Blasterz love it down here! This weekend we have had many excellent adventures in New Iberia and the Acadiana region of SW Louisiana. WSL came along with us on our visit to the Lafayette LA travel center, and the Jean Lafitte National Historic Park. While we were there, we got a tip for the best boudin in SW Louisiana: It's at The Best Stop in Scott, 1 mile N of the I-10 W of Lafayette. WSL went with us to the Best Stop, but there was no place to take a pic. (The Best Stop's boudin IS the best, so if you are out that way you have to go!!)
After we benchmarked around in Lafayette for a while, we headed to New Iberia and Avery Island, home of the world-famous and most-necessary condiment, Tabasco sauce!!! It is shipped all over the world, but is made at one place only: the historic 1906 Tabasco sauce factory on Avery Island. Every hot-head ought to come here before they die. Talk about useful stuff: Mama Blaster has been able to choke down/improve lots of mediocre cooking with varying amounts of Tabasco. (Note: not HER cooking!) Because it was raining so hard when we went there, we did not take the travel bugs out much to take pictures. It is not good TB stewardship to cause rust.
Blaster Grrlz had such a great time in New Iberia area that we stayed over one more day. On Monday, it was time to go home. We went back on the US 80 so we could stop at the Grand Saline Salt Palace and have more pix with our travel bugs. WSL got its pic made with the world's only building made of salt.
