Current Goal

The goal of Grandpa's Hiking Staff TB is to accompany him on cache searches far and wide. It will visit many interesting and diverse places with he and Gram. As a Travel Bug, it is discoverable by any geocacher who might meet up with Grandma and Grandpa on the caching trail or at various events.

This TB tag is attached to Grandpa's hiking staff. This walking stick is useful for long treks in pursuit of five-star caches; for beating the brush in areas potentially inhabited by scary creatures; and for helping Grandpa walk when his knee is sore. The staff may also occasionally get a new medallion affixed from someplace really neat that has been visited by Gram&Gramps. It also carries the Wisconsin Geocaching Assoc. 2010 geocoin, TB3X8A9.

We discovered Grandpa's hiking staff at Hartman Creek State Park when we met up with Gramps to prepare for a presentation there. We had never seen a travel bug like that before, so we will be keeping an eye on its comings and goings. We think he will find plenty of geocachers to share this "companion" with.

We then met up with Gram to have dinner together, and we must say that both Gram and Gramps are much spryer (and way better looking) than the photos here! (Camera must have caught Gramps on a bad day.)
