Found this cute little coin, and will take him back to Dallas with us. But first . . .
Today it will make us very happy if you will come with us on a whirlwind tour of San Antonio first.
We saw the Spanish Governor's palace, built in 1749 to protect the newly-established Mission de San Antonio de Valero (now known simply as the Alamo).
The Alamo is the most famous place in Texas. This is a somber place, known to us as the cradle of Texas liberty. 189 brave Texians died here on 06 March 1836, in a hopeless stand against an army of over 1500 men commanded by Mexican dictator Santa Anna. It's OK to smile here, but no loud laughing, please.
Later we went to see the last two missions, Mission San Juan and Mission Espada. Then it was back on the road to Big D! We will spread the joy in North Texas for a while.
