About This Item

The term "sherpa" is used to refer to local people, typically men, who are employed as guides for mountaineering expeditions in the Himalayas, particularly Mt. Everest. They are highly regarded as elite mountaineers and experts in their local terrain, as well as having good physical endurance and resilience to high altitude conditions.

This coin originated at a Geocaching event in Des Moines, IA. It's been to China, and around the United States. Please help meet its mission objectives by visiting mountains (Sherpa's love to climb), or great walls of any kind (remind the coin of its native heritage). Take lots of pictures, please!
