(3712) Well we all attended the event and we all missed the photo, JeePS(him) because he was chasing Lil' JeePSr around the park and JeePS(her) because she was behind the camera. But it was a great kick off to a great weekend. Thanks for the second Phooning event in Ottumwa. It was great seeing everyone.

(3679)Thanks for a great event Mr and Mrs Digger. We had fun and it was nice to meet some new folks and see alot of friends we know from this part of the State. You couldn't have asked for better weather in September.

We had dropped Lil' JeePSr with her aunt in West Des Moines this morning before heading to the event. We had some time to cache afterwards but we needed to be on the road by 2 so we could pick her up before dinner.

One of the side benefits to leaving before almost everyone else is that we got 4 FTFs from the 8 new caches. We haven't had an FTF since May when we got one with the Elves at Honey Creek, well, they got one and we were with them 🤭 Today we were on our own so can take the credit. The FTF's today also helped us break into the 20s (23 career FTFs to be exact). We are now averaging 3 a year 😁.

All in all we found 18 caches, in addition to the event and had 2 DNFs. We also won a door prize - woo hoo. We'll see you in October!

(3670) When we saw this event pop up we thought that it would be a fun one to attend with Lil' JeePSr. She had a blast, but that meant that we didn't get to meet and greet as much as we would have liked to because we had to stay close to the water. Nice to see a few familiar faces but don't think we managed to meet the organiser. JeePS(her) left a butterfly behind and a couple of Lil' JeePSr outlines. After the event we headed over to the sculpture park to complete the Challenge Team Rufus put out over there. Thanks for the event.

(3660) We came, we saw, we had beer, we had burgers, we had no brats, but we did have hotdogs.

We had dropped Lil' JeePSr off with the sitter earlier in the day so we were on our own today. The weather couldn't have been better. With the hot weather we haven't been out much so this was a good chance to see alot of our caching friends that we haven't seen in a while and meet some new ones. The food was good and so was the company. It was a beautiful night for an event although the cooler temps made for a cold ride home in the geo-Jeep.

What a great event. Hopefully the first of many What I love about caching in the State of Iowa is that no matter how far from home we are there are always people that we know and more to meet. It was nice to put some faces to names - this was our first time meeting even some of the cachers who live closer to home. And it was great catching up with those who have become part of our extended family. We weren't able to stay for long after the event because Lil' JeePSr was wiped out by the time all was said and done, but we did stay for the photo and door prize drawing (and thanks to Bucknuts and OlkB being absent) we even got to take home a door prize (cache container) that we will need to place soon. The company was wonderful, the food was great, the rodeo side show was an added bonus and we even came away with three new pathtags. Thanks for the hospitality and fun time.
