All right, you talked me into it.
A few years back when I was working on the rig, we responded to an "undiagnosed illness" at a private residence. When we got there, we found a little old lady complaining of feeling very light headed and passing out when she stood up. We worked her up and found that she was really hypotensive. While we were loading her, I asked her what medications she took, and she pointed to a big bowl on the table by her recliner.
I thought it was skittles at first, but it turned out to be a very large candy bowl full of medications. According to her, she had gotten tired of figuring out which med to take when, so she'd just put them all in the bowl and took a handful twice a day.
Er...yeah. They say that 80% of the population of the US is not medically literate enough to take their medication properly. I'd believe it.
