Ammonite - Late Triassic...

Die Ammonit Geocoin Reihe wurde von Tethys-C und C-Side Girl entworfen und mit der Hilfe von Landsharkz gemünzt. Das Set besteht aus vier altersspezifischen Ammoniten, welche unterschiedliche Epochen der stratigraphischen Aufzeichnung zeigen. Auf der Rückseite befindet sich eine Paläo-Weltkarte, welche die jeweilige Lage und das Auseinanderbrechen von Pangaea zeigt, sowie die Entstehung des Tethys Ozeans.

Die Geocoin-Serie fängt im späten Trias mit der Ammonite Geocoin - Late Triassic an, welche den Superkontinent Pangaea zeigt, der vom Tethys Ozean umschlossen ist. Im frühen Jura fängt Pangaea vom östlichen Tethys Ozean bis zum westlichen Pazifik an auseinander zu brechen, dargestellt in der Ammonite Geocoin - Early Jurassic. Während des späten Juras führte dieses Auseinanderbrechen letztlich zur Bildung der Superkontinente Laurasia und Gondwana, das wiederum zeigt die Ammonite Geocoin - Late Jurassic. Die Ammonite Geocoin - Late Cretaceous ist die letzte Geocoin dieser Reihe und zeigt die späte Kreide-Zeit. Pangaea ist mittlerweile in viele erkennbare Kontinente zerbrochen und zeigt erstmals den Atlantischen Ozean, der am Entstehen ist.

Dieses Set ist so schön und vereint auch noch zwei meiner Interessen: Geschichte und Erdkunde! Darum musste dieser Satz unbedingt mit in meine Sammlung!

The Ammonit Geocoin series was designed by Tethys-C and C-Side Girl and coined with the help of Landsharkz. The set consists of four age-specific ammonites, which show different epochs of the stratigraphic record. On the back there is a paleo world map, which shows the current location and the breakup of Pangea, as well as the formation of the Tethys Ocean.

The Geocoin series begins in the late Triassic with the Ammonite Geocoin - Late Triassic, which shows the supercontinent Pangea, which is surrounded by the Tethys Ocean. In the early Jurassic, Pangea begins to break apart from the eastern Tethys Ocean to the western Pacific, shown in the Ammonite Geocoin - Early Jurassic. During the late Jurassic, this breakup ultimately led to the formation of the supercontinents Laurasia and Gondwana, which in turn shows the Ammonite Geocoin - Late Jurassic. The Ammonite Geocoin - Late Cretaceous is the last geocoin in this series and shows the late Cretaceous period. Pangea has now broken into many recognizable continents and shows for the first time the Atlantic Ocean, which is emerging.

This set is so beautiful and also combines two of my interests: history and geography! That’s why this set has to part of my collection!
