Current Goal

PLEASE KEEP THIS GEOCOIN MOVING!! It wants to travel far and wide, so that as many cachers as possible as see it and collect its icon. At some point, it would like to visit the Birka area, but it is in no hurry. If you can post a photo of it on its travels, that would be awesome :-) Discoveries are always welcome.

Birka was a major Viking trading center, and is considered the first true city in Scandinavia. It was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.

The last cacher to find the cache in my front yard indicated that a trackable was left, so I went out to see what it was, and it was chasomanor's Birka!! The lost is now found, and resides in GC15Z4M. I suspect that it was retrieved by someone who did not know what to do with trackables, and it was then deposited in GC15Z4M and was never logged in or out. Well anyway, you now know where it is. It's a beautiful coin, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to examine it. I will log it into the cache myself so that it will be listed on the inventory of the cache.

The one thing that we know about the cache in Arkansas that this last was in, is that the cache was muggled. It's hard to be certain, but it is possible that this was in the cache when that happened. The cache has now been archived, so we are retrieving this for burial in an archived cache of ours, and hope that it turns up, some day.
