Large coin with a lot of heft. 1.75 inches by 1.5 inches 3 mm thick antique silver. Available in other metal colors. Unusual shape and excellent 3-D work. Top has a pass through for a chain. The front medallion is all metal and 3-D work. The background metal texture is brushed. The figure is of a warrior with sward and shield. The rim is done in matte green enamel and has raised 3-D metal script that reads "Philippines 1998 Germany 2008". The reverse is simple brushed metal with raised script. The script reads "N49 05.995 E009 40.885, Lapu Lapu, Germany Geocaching since 2007". Euro coin. A very nice coin.
Coin info: The geocoin is 45 x 35 x 3 mm in size. On the obverse, Lapu-Lapu is seen standing on his monument in Lapu-Lapu City on the Philippine island of Mactan. In the green border is the name at the top, on the left as a reminder a year in which the coin designer lived in the Philippines and on the right the year of the coin release
On the back you can see the nickname of the cacher, his country of origin, the year of the beginning of his cacher career and the coordinates of his home center. The official Groundspeak logo and tracking code can be found in the lower part of the back.
The coin was first released on April 11, 2008 and was minted in the editions Antique Gold, Antique Silver, TwoTone Antique Gold/Silver, Black Nickel (LE75), Antique Copper (XLE15, trade only) and TwoTone Antique Copper/Nickel (XLE10, trade only).
Lapu-Lapu is considered one of the greatest figures of ancient Philippine history. On the morning of April 27, 1521, Lapu-Lapu led aproximately 1,500 Mactan warriors armed with spears, kampilan and kalasag, in a battle against 49 Christian soldiers led by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. In what would later be known as the Battle of Mactan, Magellan and several of his men were killed
So many of my trackable have been muggled that I only release new GCs as virtuals. If you do not approve, please leave it in the cache for a cacher that understands. Thanks. BR

Thanks to the 2023 Christmas Day blizzard my daughter, JMVonFange, was delayed in heading home so we spent the bonus time together comparing our caching statistics including trackables discovered and looking through our geocaching pictures. JM has discovered significantly more trackables that I have mainly because while we were staying home during the pandemic she spent time online and spotted numerous TBs that were being shared virtually on various social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, etc. Thankfully, she still had a few notes that helped guide my search for the same trackables that she had already discovered. After looking at the TB page for each of the TBs that she had discovered, I found that a large number all belonged to several individuals and sent a message to them individually inquiring about permission to log their trackables. This travel bug was on the list that you shared with me.
