Discovered this very nice coin at the NCC 10 Years of Geocaching anniversary event. I've had a few great pets in my time, our best was our first, a German Shepherd named Rasputin. We had him from the day we got married and before we had our children. He went everywhere with us, hiked the mountains with us, slept in between us in our sleeping bags, sometimes with us in our bags and he really was our first child. That was almost 40 years ago and he is long gone but not forgotten. Now we live here in California and are much older so it's time for the cute little lap dog. We now have Isis, and she's cute as a button but not much of a hiker and darn I've can't seem to train her to sniff out those caches yet! Here she is even a little wary of a Tinker Bell TB!

My favorite pet was a mutt named Puppy. He traveled with me from CA back to PA and was my 2 yr. old son puppy dog. When my son wondered into the woods from our yard and was "lost" overnight, his puppy stayed with him. Puppy actually led the firefighter that were part of the search and rescue crew to David's hiding place under some bushes. They later rewarded puppy with a very large steak and they got their pictures in the local newpaper.

I was planning to drop this coin near San Diego last weekend in a cache I like there, but could not open the lid on the container. So here it goes into Sticking Out instead. Safe journey, Colorado Geocoin!

This coin came with me on my hikes today, mostly on the ridges overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We stopped at the beach before heading home.

  • A little silly photo, but they looked nice together.
  • Laguna Beach, California I ended up liking the slanted photo best. Sorry, geocoin owners don't get to choose the free photos! ;^)
