To go where ever you take it
I came across this AA coin in a cache and knew right away I would make it into a traveler as I've been sober for 19 years now (2009). The name I gave it has two meanings:
- AA can be a pathway to sobriety
- It reminds me of one of my favorite related songs by one of my favorite artists, a song that can sum up heavy drinking
I’ve included the song lyrics below. The name of the artist is listed afterwards as he might be controversial to some (which is not accurate in my opinion) and I hope that the value of the lyrics will be judged solely on their merit and without any pre-judgment that might otherwise occur. The name of the song relates to the fact that alcohol can be a mixture / liquid / blend / suspension that one self-ingests and can ultimately lead to one’s own figurative or literal demise.
Suicide Solution
Wine is fine but whiskeys quicker
Suicide is slow with liquor
Take a bottle and drown your sorrows
Then it floods away tomorrows
Evil thoughts and evil doings
Cold, alone you hang in ruins
Thought that you’d escape the reaper
You can’t escape the master keeper
cause you feel like you’re living a lie
Such a shame who’s to blame and you’re wondering why
Then you ask from your cask is there life after birth
What you sow can mean hell on this earth
Now you live inside a bottle
The reapers traveling at full throttle
It’s catching you but you don’t see
The reaper is you and the reaper is me
Breaking laws, knocking doors
But there’s no one at home
Made your bed, rest your head
But you lie there and moan
Where to hide, suicide is the only way out
Don’t you know what it’s really about
