Trouble in paradise. Out to do some work on the umbrella tree after the trail "trimming" that I noticed on a recent check of the night course, I also planned to discover the German geocoin in the final. What a disappointment. No TBs, geocoin, or pathtag. No log since polkajen's either, but the cache was rehidden and most of the swag was in it, lightsticks and some of the other items. I've waited a couple days for a tardy log and retrieval, but my first instinct was that the hide must have been compromised.
So I pulled the ammo can and found a new spot quite a distance away. The hint is revised emphasizing the need to leave the hide as well hidden as it is now. The toughest part was extending the night cache option. Glad I brought a good supply of reflectors and planned for some time on the trail today.
Sincere regrets to the trackable owners, in this case regarding Cuz'n joe's Bell Beckle TB tag. In another container at the old hide location, I placed a note about trackables and missions, and a plea to return the travel bugs and geocoins to that spot, which I will check every few days. I'll still hope for a tardy retrieval, or that whoever has the travelers enters a tracking number on geocaching.com and does the right thing.
Tough to take, but the final is safe for now. Will have to watch the logs and check on the rehides now and then.
