To be placed in any caches near water where fish can still breathe.
This Maryland Geocoin is named after fond memories of a crab feast I enjoyed on the shores of Chesapeake Bay near Baltimore in the 1970s with my brother and his wife’s family. Crab lines were left dangling over jetties while we went sailing, and when we returned a huge load of crabs and sweetcorn was cooked and laid out on a beach banquet table under the hot summer sun.
It seemed to me that this was the land of the plenty, and that Nature was good, beautiful and bountiful.
Now, apparently, Chesapeake Bay and its marine ecology is suffering from oxygen depletion and various pollutants which have created ‘dead-zones’.
What are we doing to our beautiful planet?
The actual Maryland geocoin stays with the owner. This is a replica for placing in the cache in an attempt to discourage those lovely non-muggles who like to "collect" (ie steal) other people's geocoins.
Please do not log this geocoin if you have not gone to the trouble of finding it in a physical cache. No Event caches please.
Logs suspected of being virtual swaps will be deleted.
This is not a regular trading item. This geocoin is a travel bug with a mission. If you do not intend to log your visit, please do not take this item. Please try to place it in another cache within a fortnight.

Thought I should drop this off as we're about to move home so not sure when I'll get out caching again. Sorry it's not far from its previous resting place but it is another beautiful, watery location.

Hope I've obeyed all the rules!!
Retrieved it from Cherry Hinton Hall grounds on a lovely autumn morning with lots of wildfowl on the lake being enjoyed by the visitors. I'm sure the fish were lurking there too.
I'll try to find another suitable location soon.

Fish certainly couldn't breathe at this cache location (a graveyard ;-). We will try to move it to a more suitable location
