Current Goal

The mission of this little truck is to survive as many households as possible! I hope his mechanism lasts and he doesn’t get crushed when being placed back into his tubular garage. See the picture of how he gets pushed back home.

About This Item

HEAVY TRUCK with tags attached

When I was a kid I played with trucks in the dirt where new hosing was being built near us. I really like toy trucks even to this day. When I worked for the City Forestry Department I drove a dump truck and operated what we called a “grapple loader.” Using the mighty hydraulics I lifted heavy tree trunks and the like and placed them in the back of the loader. Once I picked up a BIG rock and dropped it onto another one to see what would happen. That made the characteristic powerful rock colliding with a rock sound!

When I took tree brush down to the local dumping ground for that stuff here in my town I discovered that that same grapple loader! It’s been 28 years since I operated it. I’d recognize it anywhere.

The TB was transported to the Post Falls/Coeur d'Alene, ID area. The TB was placed in the cache "Whatta Spokane River View" that is on the bank of the Spokane River that runs through Post Falls, ID....a trip of about 1100 miles. (Look at the cache gallery of photos to see how beautiful the area is)

Out with Turtle Guy. Grabbed the TB from this cache. With owner's permission, want to hang onto the TB until April and transport it to the Coeur d'Alene, ID area...about 1100 miles will be added onto the TB's travels. Was looking at your photos and the thumb screw on your 'garage' is missing and the shovel bucket has disappeared...otherwise in good shape. Looks like there has been some water damage and I will put the TB/Garage in a ziplock back to protect it. It's clear that there was some effort to create the garage...thanks for your efforts.

Crouching over in a small very wet cave I saw this strange object about 2' from the cache and assumed it was beach trash. After logging in to the cache I decided to grab the item and check it outside the cave... behold... there was a TB inside! Cool "garage". I'll move it along.
