Current Goal

The mission of this little truck is to survive as many households as possible! I hope his mechanism lasts and he doesn’t get crushed when being placed back into his tubular garage. See the picture of how he gets pushed back home.

About This Item

HEAVY TRUCK with tags attached

When I was a kid I played with trucks in the dirt where new hosing was being built near us. I really like toy trucks even to this day. When I worked for the City Forestry Department I drove a dump truck and operated what we called a “grapple loader.” Using the mighty hydraulics I lifted heavy tree trunks and the like and placed them in the back of the loader. Once I picked up a BIG rock and dropped it onto another one to see what would happen. That made the characteristic powerful rock colliding with a rock sound!

When I took tree brush down to the local dumping ground for that stuff here in my town I discovered that that same grapple loader! It’s been 28 years since I operated it. I’d recognize it anywhere.

I retrieved Heavy Truck from Close To Home cache from a western suburb of Cleveland and plan to take this weighty cargo with me to Baltimore or Philadelphia. Maybe I'll deposit it south of the Mason Dixon Line. Thanks!

I picked up this cool little truck packed in its own garage at a cemetery cache in Troy, Ohio. I'll move it along to another cache ASAP.

Well, when I was a kid, I played with little stick boats in puddles in the driveway...(same concept)...but none had a cool garage! We'll take good care of Heavy Truck and will make sure he doesn't scrape his fenders on the way back into his parking space!

Ok... pulling it back out so I can log it as dropped the next time I go caching. This will put your bug back in circulation once again.

This is a really cool bug. I like the "garage" idea.
