I´m a 40 years old Ireland fan living 50 kilometres north of Hamburg in Germany. So far I´ve been to that beautiful country for seven times. Because of my two little children it is not possible for me to spend my holidays in Ireland this year. So I thought: "Well, I won´t go to Ireland this year, but my geocoins will!"
This is the sixth of six geocoins I´m sending to remote places in Ireland (and hopefully back to Germany). It is a competiton. This sixth geocoin is a suncompass and its mission is to travel to Inishtrahull Island, off Malin Head, in Co Donegal ("Twixt Rathlin and Tory" [GC91D8]). I am fascinated by this cache, because it is not easy to get to this island. The cache is very old: 8 years. But it was only found by 9 cachers!!! So it´s a mission impossible for my coin to reach this cache.
I cycled round Co Donegal in Summer 1993 on my tour from Derry to Carrick-on-Shannon and was very impressed by the landscape of this beautiful county. Now to the competition: Every time a finder takes this coin to a pub: 10 points. For each pint in the pub: 2 points. Every photo with finder in or in front of a pub: 20 points. Every cache this coin will visit in Ireland: 20 points. Every Geocacher Event this coin will visit: 50 points.

The other five geocoins go to Cape Clear (Co Cork) Great Blasket Island (Co Kerry), Inishbofin (Co Galway), Mullet Peninsula (Co Mayo) and Tory Island (The Kingdom of Tory Island).
So Men and Women of Donegal it is up to you to support your county and beat Cork, Kerry, Galway, Mayo and the Kingdom of Tory Island! Remember Summer 1992 when you beat Dublin in All Irelands Gaelic Football Championship. Take this coin to your local pub, drink your usual Guinness, take a picture and put it in the nearest cache.
