This coin was earned by travelling over 1300 miles across the state of Maryland during January 2009 locating a minimum of 22 town sponsored caches out of a total of 76. I had logged 33 of the 76 when I earned this beautiful coin. No mission for this coin other than to remain in my collection to be shared for discovery and sharing of stories with fellow geocachers at events or along the trail.
This coin represents a joint venture between the Maryland Municipal League, several generous sponsors: LGIT, KCI, Stearns & Wheler and Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and also the Maryland Geocaching Society.
Maryland (as stated and illustrated on this coin) is truly America in miniature!
