Czech locomotive Albatros

(CZE) Lokomotiva 498.0 zvaná Albatros - úspěšná rychlíková lokomotiva. Byla vyráběna ve Škodových závodech v letech 1945-47. Celkem bylo vyrobeno 40 kusů. Lokomotiva byla určena pro těžké rychlíky a používala se až do 70. let 20. století. 

Lokomotiva 498.1 přezdívaná Albatros jednička byla modifikací předchozí úspěšné řady Albatrosů 498.0. Škodovy závody těchto vylepšených strojů vyrobily v roce 1954 15 kusů. Dá se říci, že tato lokomotiva představuje vrchol československé produkce parních lokomotiv. Lokomotiva 498.106 dosáhla 27.8.1964 na zkušebním okruhu u Velimi rychlosti 162 km/h, což je rychlostní rekord našich parních lokomotiv.

(ENG) Locomotive 498.0 called Albatros - successful express locomotive. It was produced in the Škoda Factory in the years 1945-1947. Total 40 pieces were produced. The locomotive was designed for heavy trains and used until the 70th 20th century.

Locomotive 498.1 dubbed Albatros one was modifying a previous successful series Albatros 498.0. Škoda Factory 15 pieces of these improved machines produced in 1954. We can say that this locomotive represents the pinnacle of Czechoslovak production of steam locomotives. Locomotive 498.106 reached in August 27, 1964 on a test track near Velim (Czech republic) speed of 162 km/h. It's a speed record of czech steam locomotives.
