It's time to spread my wings and fly!!! I am having a race with the Mother Blue Goose TB (KARFHW) by shurtfam. My goal is to travel to all 50 states and make it back home before Mother Blue Goose. Please help me move to a state that I haven’t been to and then check off that state on my attached travel log sheet. Once I have been to every state, I would like to travel back to Fallon, Nevada and be put back into my starting cache “Quacker-Backer,” located at N 39 27.656 W 118 39.087.

When our kids were younger, they participated in the annual Junior Duck Stamp contest several times and received various participation prizes. Our family is now sending two of those prizes out, as the “Mother Blue Goose” and “Baby Blue Goose” travel bugs, on a race around the United States. The Junior Duck Stamp contest is held annually and includes all 50 states and some of the U.S. Territories. There are two levels of the contest – the State level and the National level. Each spring, students ranging in age from kindergarten to 12th grade submit their original artwork to a state or territory contest. At this level, three first, second, and third place entries are selected for each group (K-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12). An overall Best of Show picture is also selected from the first place winners, regardless of grade group. The Best of Show picture from each state and territory then moves on to the National level where they are judged once again. The top three winners at the National level are given first, second, and third place ribbons plus cash prizes. The first place picture for the National contest is then used to create a $5 Junior Duck Stamp for that year. To learn more about this contest, you can visit the Junior Duck Stamp web page on the internet. Our kids had fun when they participated in the contest. Perhaps yours will, too.
