Current Goal

To go to the Boy Scouts of America 2010 National Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, arriving by July 26, 2010.
After August 4, 2010, the goal is simply to race around the world.

About This Item

Jambo or Bust

This special edition Pinewood Derby car was created by Alex of Troop 495 of the Northwest Suburban Council near Chicago. It was released on March 6 in Batavia, IL as part of the nation wide Travel Bug "Race to 2010" where Pinewood Derby cars from all over the USA will race to the 2010 National Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia (http://www.bsajamboree.org). Cars are to arrive in time for the Jamboree dates of July 26 - August 4. A destination cache has yet to be announced as of March 6, 2010.
After Jambo, cars that make it will be released to cruise the world.
This race is part of the continuing celebration of 2010 being the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America. Find out how to get involved with Scouting where you live! Visit www.Scouting.org.

Great idea for a travel bug! Also, excellent derby car. I was lucky to get the opportunity to represent Blackhawk Area Council at the 1993 National Jamboree. Our patrol, the Lame Ducks, actually placed in the top 12 best patrol flags in the nation. The overall experience of the National Jamboree was wonderful.

I saw this at the Crystal Lake CITO. And mistakenly logged it as grabbed. It should be a discovered log. I emailed the current holder of the TB.
