About This Item

dmp

This travel bug belongs to the 1st grade geography class at Day-McKellar Preparatory School in Alpine California.
As part of our studies we launched this bug on a virtual field trip to go places our class can’t.
We are following its every move and are learning about the areas where the bug has visited, we would like to “see” where it is.
If you could take a picture of our bug at its destination or in the area where you cache it, or a picture of something interesting in the surrounding area and post it on the geocache log, we would surely appreciate it!

Please hide our bug in easy to get to or popular caches, we’d like to keep it moving!

If this bug has already reached Disneyworld, please help it travel around the South Eastern United States to visit as many places as possible!

  • at the aqueducts Today the motorcycle visited a Roman aqueduct. The motorcycle wanted to ride on the aqueduct, but cars and people are no longer allowed on the aqueduct itself due to its age. The structure was built by the Romans to carry water to their cities. The amazing thing about it is that they built perfect arches with no mortar, just stone on stone. Also, the Romans did not have any of the tools available today such as cranes or bulldozers.

Hello class! My name is Timothy Pontzer, and I am a junior in high school. Several of my classmates and I have begun on a trip through Europe. My dad gave me this travel bug that he had previously took around the United States. I thought that it would be a good idea to take your travel bug around with me to see the European countries of Spain, France, Monaco, The Vatican, and Italy. I will not leave the bug in any caches, I will simply log it in and out so that the bike can rack up some serious mileage!

  • Motorcycle visiting La Sagrada Família The motorcycle made a stop by La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. This church is a massive structure that has been under construction since 1882 and is not expected to be completed until 2026! It was designed by the famous architect Antonio Gaudi. The church is impressive both inside and out, due to its many intricate carvings, stained glass windows, and sheer size.
