About This Item

The Car I've Always Wanted

So, I would really like to get to CA before the rest of my family. I have actually driven all the way from NC to CA on I-40, now its time for my Cobra to take the ride. Thanks for your help, Melanie.
.
Though the Shelby Cobra’s conception, development, and production history are well known, there’s still a little controversy over the name and the way the cars were built. But there’s no disputing its originator: American Carroll Shelby, the former Ferrari race driver and occasional chicken farmer.

Shelby conceived the idea of shoehorning Ford’s forthcoming new small-block V-8 into the light and lively AC Ace in 1961. The first car was completed in February 1962, and deliveries to American customers began later that same year. This and subsequent Cobra models would be built over just a five-year period, but they were among the most charismatic and fearsome roadgoing sports cars ever produced. The British liked to call them AC Cobras, while Americans preferred Shelby-AC Cobra or plain Shelby-Cobra. Today, they’re remembered mainly -- and vividly -- as Cobra.

What a wonderful little sports car ! I'll stick with my '92 Geo Metro 5-door manual, though, for now anyway.

Picked up from an Aletheiometrist (sp?) at a place where there was bacon and yellow light. After a few beacons of amber liquid earlier.

think I promised him I'd drop it in Asheville, NC after completing some impressive multi-puzzle cache he recommended there. Something about God Creating Asheville.

If I can't get it that far soon, at least I can get it towards there !

Saw it at the Festivus event. I saw a real one about a month ago at a vintage car meet in Surfside Beach, SC.

After finding the Cannonball Run cache a few days ago, we just had to grab the Cobra and get it moving. So sad to see it just sitting there, so desperate to hit the road. There were other cars from which to choose, but is there any car cooler than the Cobra? We say NO.
