Current Goal

Like my predecessors, Mountaineers I & II, I would like to visit as many colleges as possible, so that my owners get to visit them virtually. I would love to have my picture taken with college themes as a backdrop. Thank you.

About This Item

We are a small rural public school located in the Adirondacks. We don't have a lot of opportunity to visit colleges and this will give us more awareness of colleges we might not have known about. Thank you.

Sadly, this is no longer in Trailheads Galore!. MCS-GPS Club, will you please mark it as missing so people won't look for it there? As the TB's owner you can do this from its web page; in the Trackable Actions menu, select "Mark Item Missing" and click on "Go". Thanks. (I've also asked the cache owner to do so.)

"500thousand" ...WOW now that is a milestone trip. My brother WRITE SHOP ROBERT came up with the idea to visit "Firestone" http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=2b43c1de-294a-4323-9e63-150da51b8807 Northern California's oldest cache to mark my 500th cache and his 1,000th cache. We planned an awesome day starting in San Francisco, heading across the Golden Gate Bridge, and into Mt. Tamalpais State Park http://www.mttam.net/ for a full day of caching. I even got to borrow his TB Camera http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?guid=127b74f5-a220-4926-b772-7723e34686c5 to take pictures with along the way. I decided this would be a great chance to start my "JoeSpaz's Treasure Chest" game that you can read about in my profile http://geocaching.com/profile/ . This had to be my most enjoyable day of caching that I can remember. The day turned out to have perfect weather, amazing caches, and the best company to enjoy it all with. The day ended with a surprise new cache hidden in honor of my 500th find "JoeSpaz's Half K" http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=9b0ee29e-0251-441e-aba1-8e73cd0f715a If you want to enjoy my trip with me, just follow the links below.

Trailheads Galore: #503 "Get out!" my brother says...."What" I asked..."Get out and go get the cache" he continued...so I did. Well at least I got out, I guess he thought I would find it pretty easily, but I was still waiting for my GPS to settle down when he walked up from parking the car. Once my GPS settled down it was a hop skip and a jump to GZ. There is a great bench here to sit at and decrypt hints at if you need to. Lots of possible hiding spots, so it took a few minutes but We found the cache shortly. Once again we took a few minutes to go through the swag and trade some items. I left a C.I.T.O. Kit and "JoeSpaz's Treasure Chest" game card #0005. I left a "MCS Mountaineer III" http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?guid=bc992d2d-722e-42e0-973a-93862049b00c and I think a Geocoin, I guess I need to find a better way to keep track from now on. Some idiot left his orange peels all over on the ground near the bench so we C.I.T.O.'d them before heading out. This seems like a great place to start a day of hiking, maybe next time I'm back this way I'll start my day here.

I can make sure to get this over to the local community college. I've never taken a class here but there are some caches on campus I want to find.

Working today at Stanford University Hospital. I'll add pictures of the campus later. This is one of the largest University campuses I've seen. Several miles from one side to the other with a lot of open space.
