About This Item

Kitchemonedo is a Potowatomi word than means "great spirit"...

I feel this is a fitting name for this travel bug as she begins her journey near the Chicago portage on the banks of the Des Plaines River.

Sadly, the Potowatomi are long gone from these woods and rivers, but hopefully Kitchemondo will remind you to appreciate the great spirits you encounter on your own journey!

    I'm in St. Louis for Christmas visiting the family. I found a Jeep Bug earlier this month. I knew then that I would be getting that lil guy over to the Lou and helping it along its travels. I had a few ideas of caches to look for and time slipped away. The last chance was the bug hotel by Lambert Airfield. This is how Kitchemonedo came to be with me. This bug reads that it is on a spiritual journey. How appropriate a find as I have just finished Celestine Prophecy and received The Purpose Driven Life for Christmas. We are just getting into the heavy part of winter out here so the spirit of the bug and me will be traveling together for awhile; at least until enough snow melts to dig into a good high mountain cache. Safe and full filling travels, the traveler.
