About This Item

He may be old, circa 1300AD, but he comes from a long line of Irish drinkers (as opposed to Scotch). He intends to start his mammoth pub crawl in Scotland (Ooops, missed the ferry! and ended up in a kiln outside Larne) and after that he's happy to go wherever the action is. His first cocktail is "Sir Knight" Ingredients: 2oz Cognac 1/2oz Cointreau 1/2oz Yellow Chartreuse 1 dash Angostura bitters Mixing instructions: Shake with cracked ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of lemon.

    A terrible thing, off the grid for 3+ years, doubtless an unwilling captive is some dark sock drawer (or worse), not a Guiness in sight.
    But, "Heeeeeees Baaaaaaaaack" and making up for lost time with a killer Halloween party at our favorite local watering hole on the very night of his return. Stood him up on the bar and and he was able to drink in the sights , so to speak, for the duration.
    He relates the following to have been his favorite libation.

    Since I took the party night to the "Golden State" I thought that I would buy him a Golden Fizz.

    1930s Golden Fizz

    2 oz gin
    juice of 1 lemon or lime
    yolk of 1 egg
    2 tbsp sugar
    carbonated water

    In a shaker with ice, drop egg yolk. Add gin, sugar and juice. Shake 30 times. Strain into a highball glass and add carbonated water. Drink immediately.
