About This Item

The Wild Rover

This is an old hubcap from the now-defunct Rover Car Company that was given to us by Superted.

The Rover mascot began its life as an innocent pun on the most famous rovers of all - the Vikings. As the word ‘Rover’ means ‘wanderer’ or ‘seafarer’, a Viking mascot was considered apt for the Rover company.

Whilst other Viking symbols preceded it, the Viking Ship prow and sail first appeared on a radiator badge in 1929 and evolved symbolically throughout Rover’s history.

"TL;DR: We don't have the trackable (and feel sorry for you if it means it is still missing), but stumbled upon its discovery code.

The story: I discovered this trackable/coin when I cracked the cache ""Msportis Coinlihaus der 2."" and then was able to reverse-engineer some Coins/TBs of the owner Msporti as well. By pure chance / luck while testing out possibilities for this I also came across this TB/coin. We hope that it's okay that we discover it, if not, feel free to delete this log. TFTC/TFTT ;-)"
