Little Red Kayak & his Turtle Buddy

My member name is flkayakgirl because I live in Florida and I like to kayak. I am particularly fond of kayaking the crystal clear spring fed rivers of Florida. The Rock Springs Run near Wekiwa Springs is my favorite place to paddle. The great thing about geocaching is you can do it in conjunction with many other activities; like hiking, bicyling & kayaking. For example, a few of weeks ago my boyfriend Leo5591 and I located 3 caches while kayaking the 1000 Islands in Cocoa Beach, Florida. We have also goecached while hiking in the Hal Scott Regional Preserve and the Moccasin Island Tract. Goecaching is the perfect compliment to an active lifestyle.

Found this wonderful little red kayak and if the owner doesn't mind we will take it with us to Kansas and Oklahoma when we go in a coupld of weeks for Grandma's 90th birthday. We plan to visit a few caches there so we could drop it off. Let us know. Thanks for sharing.

just a short day around town today, catching up on some local hides.

discovered while out around town today.

funny thing. the local nascar store is going out of business and today was his last day. while i believe mrs seastar has enough nascar paraphernalia, she does not. so we started out the day at the nascar store and she treated the owner pretty well, dropping something like $300.00.

on the way out of the store and back to the car, i looked at her and said 'i am so getting a kayak!' and wouldn't you know it, 20 minutes later i followed through with my threat and had this cute little red kayak in my hand. you see how it works in our household. thanks for sharing.

My poor kayak seems to have "run aground" and been stranded in Viera for the past month, so I retrieved it today while out caching in that area. Will have to relaunch it and see if it gets further this time!
